Flood

The flood is a malicious action that consists of sending a large amount of unnecessary data into a network in order to saturate it (in terms of bandwidth, for example). It is often used in denial-of-service attacks.

It's like if you put about 50 balloons into use during a soccer game, the goalie would be slightly saturated

It is also found in IRC channels to pollute conversations.

On Twitter , repeated and undifferentiated use of the #FF hashtag can be considered flood.

To counter this type of attack, we resort to the CAPTCHA system or IP address filtering depending on what we have to protect.

If we go back to our soccer example, it comes down to putting a referee who will apply certain rules
